It was our great pleasure to play at Kayla & Thomas' wedding at Thirlestane Castle, Edinburgh.

A Fairy Tale Celebration at Thirlestane Castle: Thomas and Kayla's Scottish Wedding Extravaganza

Nestled in the picturesque Scottish Borders, Thirlestane Castle, a stunning 16th-century fortress turned enchanting wedding venue, provided the dreamy backdrop for the stylish celebration of Thomas and Kayla. The couple, hailing from New York, USA, embarked on a magical journey to Scotland, where they and their 150 guests immersed themselves in two days of joy and merriment.

The Perfect Venue

Thirlestane Castle, with its rich history and grandeur, offered the ideal setting for the couple's festivities. From a pre-wedding evening filled with falconry and Scottish feasts to a heartfelt ceremony in the Rose Garden and a grand reception in the castle's opulent rooms, every moment was steeped in romance and tradition.

Kayla's Fairytale Gown

The star of the day, Kayla, graced the occasion in a fairytale princess wedding dress, a vision of dreams that perfectly complemented the captivating blend of style, elegance, and tradition that defined Thomas and Kayla's love story.

Venue Insights

Thomas and Kayla, accompanied by their 150 guests, enjoyed exclusive use of Thirlestane Castle for two unforgettable days. While close friends and family stayed in the Castle suites, others were accommodated nearby. The couple's vision of a Scottish castle wedding was flawlessly realized with the assistance of their planner, Timeless White, and the dedicated Thirlestane Castle team.

Pre-Wedding Evening Soiree

To kick off the celebrations, Thomas and Kayla treated their guests to an evening of highland games, falconry, and archery at the Castle. The festivities included speeches, live music, and authentic Scottish cuisine. The pre-wedding soirée continued in the Vaulted Cellar and in front of the castle, with live music, firepits, and a delightful summer evening atmosphere.

The Wedding Day

Staying at Thirlestane Castle allowed the bridal party and groomsmen to relax and prepare for the big day. The unique ceremony took place in the Rose Garden, featuring nods to Scottish tradition such as a quaich drink sharing and handfasting. The celebrant's guitar performance added an extraordinary touch.

Following the ceremony, the newlyweds descended the Castle steps to a confetti toss and champagne celebration on the terrace. The wedding breakfast unfolded in The State Drawing Room and The State Dining Room, adorned with elegant table settings and floral arrangements, creating a magical atmosphere for the 150 guests.

Evening Party

As the night unfolded, the celebration continued in a beautiful Sperry tent in the Rose Garden, illuminated by festoon lighting and statement foliage arrangements. Musicians brought unparalleled energy to the dance floor, ensuring an unforgettable evening for all.

As the night came to a close, the newlyweds danced through an archway of sparklers, a joyous and magical end to a truly incredible celebration.

Best Part of the Day

Thomas and Kayla fondly recalled the first drive up the gravel lane, witnessing the front of the castle, and watching their guests share the same awe. The Thirlestane Castle team, led by Sarah and Monica, played a crucial role in bringing their vision to life, exceeding expectations and ensuring a seamless and magical experience throughout the two-day celebration.

In the words of Kayla and Thomas, "From day one, the team was excited about our vision and encouraged us to get creative using the various available spaces. During the two days, the team went above and beyond to ensure everything was perfect, and we couldn't be more grateful."
